Family History

This history of Rockefeller’s Cleaning & Restoration Co. and Rockefeller’s Construction, Inc. is the story of Kelly and Larry Borgeson and the incredible teams at Rockefeller’s.

Larry and Kelly Borgeson, owners and founders of Rockefeller’s Cleaning & Restoration Co. and Rockefeller’s Construction, Inc., did not take a traditional route into the cleaning business. Kelly began her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Carnegie-Mellon University while Larry served in The United States Marine Corps in Viet Nam, earning a Bronze Star, Presidential Citation and a Purple Heart.

In 1975 Larry and Kelly came to Albuquerque to complete their undergraduate studies at the University of New Mexico. After earning their Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees, Larry’s in photography and Kelly’s in painting, they started the business in 1979 to help pay for their graduate school education. They both earned their Master of Arts degrees, but had found themselves happily immersed in the less traditional artist path of restoration work. Surprised by the success and fulfilment with Rockefeller’s they decided to put everything into building Rockefeller’s.

Today, the businesses are still locally owned and family operated, but without the incredible staff, Rockefeller’s Cleaning & Restoration Co. and Rockefeller’s Construction, Inc. would not be here. Our teams of men and women are passionate, skilled and devoted. Rockefeller’s is an emergency service business, open 24-7, which speaks to our employees’ commitments.
